Michael North BIO

From the tender age of two Michael North has been surrounded by music. After years of hearing his father sing bass with the doowop group the Spaniels, Michael sparked his natural ear. At the age of 10 his journey began with learning to play the trombone and through the years he also became proficient on the baritone, tuba, drums, guitar and piano. Michael’s main instrument today is his voice.

Michael's dive into the singing arena happened his freshman year in college when a good friend suggested they sing for an upcoming dance. Needless to say it was not only successful but also a complete smash! From that incredible night there was no looking back. From starting the group Brothers 3 in college to releasing two albums later with his group Between the Lines, Michael’s musical pallet has been fine tuned to be one of today's top singer-songwriter producers.

In 2003 Michael became the Worship Leader at the 10,000 member church Shepherd of the Hills in Porter Ranch, CA. He also launched the independent record label NORTHOUSE (NH) in 2006. NH project releases include: Michael North “You’re My Song” (a solo Christian Contemporary album), “Stage for a Miracle!” (a Live Worship album recorded at Shepherd of the Hills church), "Out of Shepherd- from us to the World" (a Northouse artists compilation album) and “Close Your Eyes” (a children’s music album for the acclaimed children’s lifestyle brand Shushybye).

With several cutting edge projects currently in production Michael North and Northouse is positioned to be a force in the music and entertainment industry. In a recent interview Michael explained the mission and purpose of Northouse. He said “ We started Northouse to be a vehicle to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and reclaim the arts for the Kingdom of God”. He went on to say, “People need to not only see and hear projects that are overtly Christian, but also experience different works that are simply done in a Christian way. That’s how you represent Jesus and change the culture!”
